Colegio Anglo Colombiano

Having identified a need for an international English-medium school modelled on the British school system, the Colegio Anglo Colombiano (The Anglo-Colombian School) was founded in 1956. The school's founding sponsors included a number of domestic statesmen and diplomats with direct support from the British embassy in Bogotá. The school has grown over the years to offer a full educational programme for pupils from pre-school right through to age 18.

The school maintains a distinctly international ethos, attracting a diverse student body comprised of local and international pupils studying towards the International Baccalaureate (Diploma, Middle Years Programme and Primary Years Programme). This experience is augmented by the school's participation in the prestigious Round Square international network which brings together like-minded schools espousing the philosophies of famed educator Kurt Hahn and committed to developing its pupils as global citizens. As such, the school also offers a model United Nations programme.

The school operates a House system in keeping with its British ethos, with each house being named for a great British Admiral: Beatty; Nelson; Rodney; and Hood. Each pupil is assigned to a house (effectively their form group) and the Houses operate vertically across the primary and secondary school. Houses compete in intermural competitions.

Pupils at Colegio Anglo Colombiano may take advantage of a broad selection of extracurricular activities and sports.
