The G30 Schools Conference is an annual conference bringing together the Heads of an invited group of what are considered the world's leading schools. Membership of each conference is an extremely prestigious honour which is bestowed on the Head rather than the school, as is in keeping with many other such membership associations. Since the network's foundation in 2006 as G20 by the Heads of Wellington College in England and St Andrew's College in South Africa, a member school has played host to the invited Heads and their spouses. Invitations are drawn from a select group of schools, which share a common purpose and which are considered the best in their respective markets. Up to 30 schools are invited to any one conference and each new invitation must be approved by the existing respective members indicating that each Head and the school which they represent is considered to be the best amongst its peers.
Since the inaugural (2006) conference hosted jointly by Wellington College and Eton College in England, conferences have been held consecutively at St Andrew’s College and Bishops Diocesan College in South Africa (2007); King's Academy in Jordan (2008); Harvard-Westlake School (2009); The King's School in Australia (2010); International School of Geneva (2011); Phillips Exeter Academy and Buckingham Browne & Nichols School in the United States (2012); Daly College in India (2013); Markham College in Peru (2014); Wellington College, Stowe School, Eton College and Marlborough College in England (2015); RDFZ, The High School Affiliated to Renmin University of China and Chinese International School in China and Hong Kong (2016); Brookhouse School in Kenya (2017); Carey Baptist Grammar School in Australia (2018); Appleby College and Upper Canada College (2019); and was due to be held at Schule Schloss Salem in Germany in 2020 but cancelled due to the coronavirus global health scare.
