The Society of Heads is a formal membership body comprised of the members of selective independent schools in the UK and overseas. They represent a number of leading private schools, including secondary schools, preparatory schools and specialist schools such as performing arts and military academies. The society was formerly The Society of Headmasters and Headmistresses of Independent Schools (SHHIS) and is still commonly known by this abbreviation today.
