St. Lawrence College

St Lawrence College was built during the late Victorian era as part of a wave of new schools that came to espouse the public school tradition, focussing on providing an education in classics alongside modern science and mathematical programmes in order to prepare pupils for entry into the top universities and, ultimately, a life in civil service. St Lawrence was initially founded as South Eastern College but changed its name in the early part of the last century. The school caters for pupils from nursery through to sixth form and offers both day and boarding options in the prep and senior school. The school also operates a football academy programme with nearby Margate Football Club where promising footballers will train whilst boarding at the school.
