A formal association of leading junior boarding schools (middle schools) that prepare pupils for entry into the leading college-preparatory schools in the country. All the members are based in New England and New York and regularly compete against one another academically and athletically.
The schools are considered to be the elite middle schools of America akin to British preparatory schools.
